Elisa Uyen is the Managing Director and Founder of The Pivot Institute which was established in 2002. With over 25 years’ experience in corporate training, learning and development consultancy and RTO management Elisa is committed to providing powerful, customised and targeted programs across leadership and management, training and assessment and mine based training including high risk licences. Elisa and her team have also been co-ordinating Pivot’s major projects including Life After Argyle and My Future Plan for Rio Tinto. These projects have provided bespoke learning and development consultancy services to support upskilling for large mine closures including determining suitability, management of training functions and Master Vendor services for Argyle (WA) and Ranger Uranium (NT).
Camilla has over 23 years of experience as a training manager, corporate trainer and training consultant. With both national and international experience, Camilla has been involved in numerous large scale training initiatives with an emphasis on the training of trainers to become experts in the Training and assessment field. Camilla’s training philosophy is simply “everyone matters.” She has a passion for everyone to be successful and, as a course facilitator, will aim for all The Pivot Institute’s trainees to adapt the same philosophy.
Camilla’s education includes Bachelor of Technology in Human Resources (South Africa), National Diploma in Personnel Management, Diploma in Training & Assessment and the Diploma of Management and Business, and a variety of other Training Qualifications.
Senior Learning & Development professional and Vocational Education & Training specialist with extensive (operational & corporate) industry experience. Has Master’s degree in Professional Education and Training (MPET), and postgraduate qualifications in HR.
Renata developed her skills and knowledge working for a number of companies across all industries including oil & gas, mining, biosecurity and the Government.
Strongly believes that through education and personal growth individuals can better themselves and positively contribute to society. Her professional goal is to assist individuals in their lifelong learning and development journey.
Phoebe joined Pivot in July 2019. She is a qualified CPA with experience across the full accounts spectrum of the company. Phoebe commenced her career as an accountant in 2011 and her expertise cover all aspects of company accounts, bookkeeping, invoicing, budgeting and tax planning.
Marketing and Communications Manager
Ashleigh has been with Pivot for over 7 years and specialises in course content development, marketing and client relationship management. Ashleigh has worked in mining and manages client communication and liaison between Pivot and our mining clients. Ashleigh thoroughly enjoys the creative side of the development of Pivot’s marketing content and is in charge of the marketing and communication side of the organisation. Ashleigh’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Event Management.
Telisha joined Pivot after completing a Certificate IV in Business BSB40215, Cert III in Design CUA30715 and a Cert II in Sport and Recreation SIS20115. While working as the administrator at Pivot she is continuing her studies and completing a Diploma of Business BSB50101.
At Pivot, Telisha handles the daily activities such as providing ongoing communication and support for students, logging assessment submissions and handling most email correspondence. Telisha also organises and schedules the training programs and makes sure that all students are kept up to date with all upcoming training and students support days.
Trainer and Assessor
With over 20 years of experience in facilitation and assessment, Jennifer has been able to assist learners achieve their goals for career pathway development. Jennifer has worked on a number of projects within the education, mining, oil and gas and private sectors both nationally and globally. Jennifer has a strong focus on coaching for success in both Training and Assessment and Leadership and Management skills.
Melissa has been involved in a number of projects which The Pivot Institute is facilitating for Rio Tinto. These projects involve engaging with participants to provide them with the opportunity to effectively transition to future employment, enterprise or retirement when the mine which they are employed at closes. Melissa’s role in the project has involved engaging with participants to identify training which will be most suitable for them as individuals and allow them to reach their career goals in the future. She then supports participants while they are completing their chosen course.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary) from the University of Notre Dame in Australia. She has spent time educating children as both as a primary school teacher in Perth and as a volunteer tutor in rural schools across Western Australia
Louise is an experienced Learning and Development Consultant with a history of working in the professional training industry. Skilled in educational consulting, training needs analysis and currently consulting for organisations within the mining and resources sector. Louise’s qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Psychology from the University of Western Australia.
