Kiva Loans

As many of you may realise, running and maintaining a successful business can be difficult. This is a challenge that many of us face day-to-day to ensure the smooth running of our businesses with careful planning and a lot of extra hours. Even with its ups and downs hopefully you will be rewarded with success, a steady income and your very own empire that you have created. What if you never got that chance to set up the business and to see your idea succeed? Imagine you didn’t have the resources or the funds available to establish your dream? What if you were born or even unluckily ended living in poverty?

A fantastic organisation that the Pivot team have recently discovered is Kiva Loans. This non-profit organisation enables young and old entrepreneurs with ideas but no resources, students who wish to study but can’t afford the tuition fees, and even hospitals who need medicine but can’t afford them, to receive loans from all over the world. With the minimum loan only $25, it is extremely affordable to participate in this worthy cause and lend money to those who deserve it. This enables the less fortunate to be able (like you and me) to succeed. The beauty of this organisation is that these individuals can maintain their independence by planning their repayments plan to the payees. Many of the individuals as I mentioned above are simply trying to set-up or expand their business to provide for their family.

98% of money has been returned over the past 8years since it was founded in 2005. There has been an astounding $472,571,300 in loans by 989,267 Kiva Lenders. The organisation is global including remote areas of the world. The journey is an interesting one for the lender too. With thousands of hopefuls requesting loans and with a lot of interesting and unique stories we found it very difficult to decide who to choose!

It truly is a wonderful organisation that I think we should all have a look at and help out if we can. All of us at The Pivot Institute each have chosen an individual and plan to make it an annual occurrence. The aim is as this business grows we will help others to set up or to expand theirs. It is also incredibly enjoyable to track their progress.

The reality is that we are very lucky to be where we are today and we should share our luck and wealth with those who need it. For more information visit www.kivaloans.org
